Ian Budge

Ian began his post secondary education by completing a 4 year undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and Health Science (B.Kin) from York University. Upon acceptance to Queen’s University, Ian moved his life to Kingston where he completed a professional masters degree in Physiotherapy (MscPT). For over 15 years, Ian has been working in private practice treating orthopaedic injuries and helping Kingston’s finest get back on their feet. Commitment and dedication to his family, career and community will always be number one for him.
Ian has taken postgraduate physiotherapy courses in manual therapy, advanced dry needling/acupuncture, shockwave therapy, blood flow restriction training among others. Most importantly therapeutic exercise and an active recovery are always at the forefront of his treatment plans. In an effort to provide his patients with the fastest possible recovery, Ian prioritizes using a client centered approach in which a biopsychosocial model can be applied. Ian prides himself on using modern, evidenced informed care along with excellent communication skills. In this way, he feels we are maximizing the overall speed of recovery.
Ian enjoys an active lifestyle which usually includes sports of all kinds, backcountry camping, and running after his two boys. Drinking a rich espresso, exploring new travel destinations with his family, and strumming on the acoustic guitar are some of the ways he enjoys relaxing in his spare time. From reflecting on his own life, Ian attempts to implement treatment plans that encourage mindfulness and hard work for each individual client.
